Mike Marks,
It would be nice if the people who post this kind of stuff would do a little research. Invention City is a company I founded in 1996 to help inventors. It is an independent entity that is now sponsored by Davison. Before judging Invention City or Davison I suggest you read the articles and other information at InventionCity.com. I believe that InventionCity's info on inventing is the best on the web. Period.

The fact is that few inventors have had the success I've had and those that have had my level of success do not write about it.

Regarding Davison - Some years ago I was thinking about making InventionCity a fee for service business. I concluded that if I did offer that service I'd need to charge approx $100,000 per client to make it worthwhile... and my success rate (assuming I was very picky about clients) would have been approx 25%. That is to say that 3 out of 4 people with fantastic inventions would lose $100,000 working with me. And that would be a fantastic success rate. Well... you can imagine how people who lost $100k would feel. So I didn't do it.

Then I learned about Davison. I read the negative stories. Then, rather than trust other people's opinions, I did my own research. I went out to Pittsburgh, looked at what they were doing and had a conversation with Mr. George Davison himself. Frankly, I was blown away and my review reflects that fact.

Davison has found a way to do invention development in a mass-production manner that saves a ton of money. Is there still a high failure rate? Yes. But that's the nature of the business. How many of the millions of patents actually make money? Less than 1%. And each patent costs between $10,000 and $40,000. And, in my experience, a patent is worth far less than a prototype.
