Discount Transmissions & Axles Oceanside Ca

I took my vehicle in to have it checked out prior to making a cross country move. They informed me that the passenger side inner c/v boot needed replaced. I had them do the work and upon picking up my vehicle asked if everything was fixed and that I was driving across country and need to be sure that I would be safe. They assured me that I would be fine and that the vehicle was safe to drive across country. I arrived to my final destination and had my vehicle checked out by a certified mechanic(to register my vehicle) only to find out that the whole c/v joint rod was cracked and the boot was ripped, and that the vehicle was not safe to drive like that. I called to report this to Discount Transmisions and Axles and the owner gave me a hard time and would not refund the money. The real catcher is that he charged me $175.00 for labor and the part was $20.00 which the second mechanic told me was a complete rip off. I cannot believe that people like this are allowed to opperate businesses. I was simply lucky to have not have something bad happen to me while on the road.  They are liars and rip off artists. I would not recommend them unless you want to put you or your familie's lives in jeopardy.
