 My Experience with Premium Wheels Inc. of Richmond Hill, Ontario

I went to Premium Wheels of Richmond Hill, Ontario to look at a VW GTI vehicle that I saw advertised on Kijiji.

I test-drove the car, and after some disciussion with the Sales Manager, Ben I decided to buy the car, and gave Ben a deposit, with the intention of picking up the car a day or so later, after it has been certified.

The next day, I changed my mind and decided that if I was going to buy a high-end luxury vehicle from Premium Wheels, that what I really wanted was a BMW, which, at the time, was out of my price range. 

Ben very readily returned my down payment, although he was under absolutely no obligation to do so, and he agreed to let me know if and when a car comes into his shop that might be of interest to me.

What I learned in the process of looking for a used car is that you want to be sure that any used vehicle that you buy is 1) certified, 2) has either a new clutch or no clutch at all 3) has a new timing belt or no timing belt at all. It helps to know the service record of the vehicle but you are just not going to get that in most cases from any dealer like Premium Wheels because they simply don't have it. If you want to know the service record of a car, you pretty much have to buy it from the owner. The best that you can really expect from a pre-owned car dealer is the Car Proof report, which tells you a lot of information about the car's history, but not the service records.

It's a good idea to have a mechanic you trust or a car dealership you trust inspect any car prior to buying it.

If you do follow the advice above, you will avoid many of the issues that can arise in purchasing a used car.

Would I buy a car from Premium Wheels?

Yes - without hesitation - if Ben called me to say he had a car that would suit my needs, I would have no problems in dealing with Ben or Premium Wheels.

It would have to be a car with a new clutch, a new timing belt or no timing belt, in mint condition and certified, and you can certainly get a car like that at Premium Wheels.
