Labeled by many as domain hijackers and scam artists; Liberty Names of America sends a rather official looking mailing that appears to be an invoice. Many people send them a payment thinking they are paying a bill to keep their domain name, when what they are doing is initiating a domain transfer to this unscrupulous company. DO NOT BE FOOLED!

It is a good thing that there are some safeguards in place such as domain locking that keeps a domain from being transferred on a whim or by the innocent actions of someone just paying what looks like a bill.

The prices of their services are far above what is considered fair, and I guess this is to offset the cost of there mailing campaigns. $29 a year for a domain is absurd when you can go to GoDaddy or Register.com for less than $15 per year.
